Why：An unclosed batch keeps inflating WIP on the dashboard. Closing it out just states plainly what was actually lost — it's about getting the books right, not hiding a problem.
Check the list for production dates still showing open (unclosed) WIP.
Confirm the floor genuinely has no remaining WIP for that date.
Enter the operator ID.
Press Close-out — the remaining open quantity for that date is recorded as lost and open resets to zero.
A management action — best done by a supervisor or senior engineer, after checking the floor.
